Hey guys..looking for advice. First time playing D&D and going to be playing the Middle Earth Aventures version. I have a character made. A Bree-Man Warrior with Doomed to Die.

Looking for some tips on a fun backstory and roleplay tips for him.

Thanks in advance.

I’d really recommend playing a game of straight D&D before this. Try your local game store for an Adventurers League night. Then try this

D&D seems a bit too magic focused system for LOTR

It might help to know more about your character. Are you mace wielding psychopath or a bard? Do you have an alignment or physical traits yet

Shield tanky type warrior

It's a human settlement, any generic backstory can likely work. Just don't be more outrageous than you're willing to rollplay. 1/2

Remember, you're playing a character, not a set of dice, so if you're new to TTRPGs, keep it simple and grow from there.

You do know there is a completely separate and original LOTR Pen&paper roll play?

...what? Why would they want to play that? He's asking for backstory help.

Yes but was looking for someone to help me learn 5E and came across this and the DM is nice and is willing to teach me

Fair enough, Bree are mainly a mix of Dunnish and other folk. So they are pretty down-to-earth and pragmatic, dislike super natural stuff1/2

A people with no great legends or super ancient bloodlines of royalty. So they would prolly view most other kingdoms as pompous
