The one mistake I made with my cats was not training them as kittens to wear a harness and be adventure cats. Training them into this and not being scared when they're older is much harder.
It’s often because in cat body language your aversion is translated as comfortable and non-aggressive / friendly. On the other side of it people who want a cats attention but don’t know cat body language well tend to look at them a lot and stare, which in cat language is a sign of distrust. Like “I don’t want to take my eyes off you” they either are watching for an opportunity to attack or are expecting an attack. Cat body language is opposite of some defaults for dogs and humans :)
This is how my girl is in the truck. It's *her* truck, I just change the view for her regularly. Every place we go she's super excited to see the guard and the loaders, at our regular haunts she has legitimate favourite loaders that she'll honk the horn at when she sees them.
She's great, super interactive but also really well trained to not get in the way. Only 'bad' habit she has is if I leave the door open too long at a place where she has a 'friend' she launches out to chase them down. Obviously that's less than safe when a 9lbs cat tries to catch a 5T forklift! But otherwise she's perfectly content to watch them work out the window. She's tried to give toys to a couple of guys, it's adorable watching her stand on the seat with a plush fish in her mouth.
She's a total ham, she LOVES the attention of people and everyone thinks it's awesome how chill she is in the truck. She grew up in it, I found her at about 3w old at a Walmart in KY so to her the truck is home and the house is this weird thing we visit on the weekends. The first time she learned to honk you'd think she'd just found out mice are made out of meat, couldn't get her off the horn! Now she just does it to get people to look at the truck.

I will not have a cat that won't wear a harness. The simple ability to put a handle on a cat is too useful to pass up

I could be wrong, but I think the kitty sensed that he was a cat-lover.

I wonder if he loves to run?

I am not a cat lover but my aversion tends to make cats more interested in me it seems.

I DEMAND, (respectfully) video of her honking the horn! Lol
IHaveGreatKittenRecipes
If I can ever get her to do it and have my phone ready, absolutely! She's a little punk and only pulls that trick when I'm not waiting for it.
monkeyontherun4
Haha of course she does. She's a cat!
