Step 1. Load the bag in excess.
Step 2. Shake the bag and load it a bit more.
Step 3. Remove the excess.

They do this for ever bag? Geez, so slow

7 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, they must get like 10 or 12 bags a day done like this. it does make me wonder about the setup. There were several other chutes with bags attached and no one working them. This was some sort of demo I'd guess.

I've done this same process by hand but with grass seed. You can get 25 50lb bags on a pallet in under 30 minutes easily solo. The product is loaded into large hoppers that can be adjusted to dump a predetermined amount with a lever pull. Smarter operations will have a conveyor belt that carries a loaded bag straight to the stitcher so there's no need to lift and carry except stacking.

Is he just dumping the excess on the floor?

9 hours ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, there's a spill-over bag there that's slowly filled up from single scoops of bags processed ahead of it.

4 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No they dump into the half full bag you see on the side when he walks away.

9 hours ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

OSHA approved safety sandals

mask and hairnet sure but gloves? not sure why you're suggesting them but for his health/safety gloves would be a negative. for the consumers health/safety flour is a raw product and while washing hands is certainly standard in flour production you really wanna cook that shit before you eat it. proper shoes would be better.

My aunt is currently going blind from long term exposure to flour at her job. I was appalled when I learned you can go blind from it.

Could be worse. They could be smoking, I guess. At least briefly.

There's a lot that SHOULD be happening, or not happening, in this workplace.

No sign of a dust collection systems either. Explosion waiting to happen. Check out the USCSB youtube on the imperial sugar explosion for a similar incident with sugar.

I was like "that guy must be really good at measuring" and then he brought it over to the scale and I was like "oh yeah I'm an idiot. But still good at measuring."
