Update hour 11, end of bag 6, UCS Millennium Falcon

Dec 29, 2017 2:05 PM

Now that's a freighter if I've ever seen one!

Look at all the cool details on the sides! It's full of stuff like that!

I can almost hear the engines!

Hour 11 and bag 6 done! I've encountered my first missing piece, and I'm afraid it's a part to connect a later part. I'll see what I can do about it later.

I think you need to open all the bags, put the pieces in a pile of assorted pieces, mix them up and then try to build it.

no thanks.

This makes me want to buy one

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can build one of these faster than you can read "any really long book"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you tried checking the bottom of your shoe for the missing piece? Maybe you stepped on it and only your shoe saved you from the agony.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it that detailed or is 11 hours seem kinda long?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can normally get replacement parts for free via the lego website. I had a missing gear in a Technic set and they sent me one for free.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you done the Saturn V yet? It’s really detailed

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck you im poor +1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now I wanna buy Lego

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want one so badly :(

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not lining up all the notches the same way bothers me..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want one so bad

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude, if someone sends me one of those, I will livestream the whole build, marathon-style. Guaranteed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A missing piece? It must be around somewhere, I've never had a missing piece in an official set, only extras.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seems like it would be a common occurrence, but it's never happened to me either. Apparently they'll ship a replacement for free though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I saw as much in other comments after I posted that, guess I've been lucky.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

$ 800 and unavailable almost everywhere...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Drooling jealously, I can’t seem to find any available anywhere.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never saw a bag count at the beginning, so I don't know how many more there are left?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

17 in total!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I always upvote Lego.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I got your promise, not a scratch?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look what my brother did to his

Holy smokes, that's so cool! How did he do it? LED lighting strip with battery pack?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yep and voice activated through Google!

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Awesome! I just got this set. I will keep this in mind!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How many pcs is this one?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7541

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should get Harrison Ford to sign it for you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

oh god

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His reaction

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are there any lego builds of this size that aren't star wars relate? I'd love a weekend build, but I'm that guy that isn't in to star wars.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Taj Mahal is currently the largest set that isn't star wars. 5,923 pieces and a deal at $370.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6.25 cents/piece compared to 10.6 for the millennium falcon

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice, thanks!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The amount of times I thought I had a missing piece, only for it to turn up or I realise I stuck it elsewhere.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I have built hundreds of Lego sets and I always say"my god is this finally the one with the missing piece..." it isnt.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The bag system they switched to makes this much easier to figure out.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree. Every build has at least one of those moments for me and so far, I’ve always been able to find that little missing bastard.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know, I retraced every step, but it just wasn't there!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's ALWAYS there. Just gotta keep looking!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It'll be there! Did the standard 2015 Millenium Falcon on xmas day and found the tiniest missing piece stuck behind a sofa seat somehow...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Woah, hold the fucking phone. What's this 'too old to get presents' shit? Stow that talk right now!

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

this sounds very similar to a conversation i had with my wife!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im 31 and got a hot wheels slot car track from my mother-in-law. Bets gift since years.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've been holding this phone for an hour now, what do you want me to do with it?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shit.. Iam almost 40, my family still exchanges gifts . My 85 year old grandma gets the most gifts. Her kids and grand kids all give to her

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Happens. I'm 36 and haven't received a christmas or birthday present since I was 18

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When's your birthday? I'd like to remedy that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my family, only kids get presents. No presents from adults to adults. And once you stop really believing in Santa Claus, you're an adult.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why would you count the hours when building Legothingies?

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

Interesting to know how long it took. The people going for shortest time are doing it wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did as well. Finished at-st in under 2 hours.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

why not?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I only do that when working. Not when doing something I love.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some folks like the data. I count stair steps everywhere I go. I dunno why. Maybe I'm retarded.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or a bit asburger?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not at all. Just different.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Records. I built the death star and the super star destroyer, both took approximately 3 days

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

What...that 1000 pound set...in three days. Only rrason I didnt get it was the time it wud take

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was working like 16 hours a day only stopping to eat, sleep and go to the bathroom

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

ouch, missing piece - hurts worse than stepping on them

8 years ago | Likes 191 Dislikes 0

Then you find it months later in the weirdest place

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably the damned hyper drive

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I have never had a missing piece. I've been very impressed by that.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah man, if it's really crucial, I'm gonna cry :D

8 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 0

Go to their website and fill the form in. We had our missing piece replaced in about a week for free!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

@OP what kind of piece is it?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Plus side- LEGO CS will replace the piece if you call and let them know. Down side- weeks wait. Hopefully it’s something you have stock of.

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

You do not even have to call them, just fill the form on their website and let them know what piece you are missing, that's what I did.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I bought a set of something once, missing part was something I had to use to continue any building at all, by time I got the piece I no

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Longer had any interest in building x.x

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Those random details are called "greebles".

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

And nurnies.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

In movie model building, sure. But on the real Millennium Falcon, they're modifications that Han Solo made himself.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No such thing as a "real" aluminum falcon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why would Han add random shovels and phones on the millennium falcon?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If he gets snowed in and needs to call a tow fighter?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Smart.
