Winning golds and breaking world records is just another day for her. Scary thing, since she's only 19 years old, she's probably only going to get better. Kudos and congrats Katie Ledecky!

I could've sworn it was Woody Harrelson!

Could of had a massage while waiting.

It took 11 seconds for the next swimmer to finish! Legend.

Did they swim with anchors fastened?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's 19!?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You bet your sweet ass they're gonna take a second look at her steroid screening

When she's bald will she still wear the swimming cap?

Has Cseh taught you nothing

Good answer.

While it's off topic, super stoked for Mya Dorado (sp). Did you see how shocked / happy she was? Beautiful Olympic moment.

She's performed quite well herself!

TFW Dirado beats the "world's best backstroker" but still isn't the best

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Very true, but you have to love her for backstory alone. That and her humility and grace in winning.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She smashed her own World Record by 2 seconds.... it was nuts to watch.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Didn't they say she has the top 10 record times?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She's broken 13 in her lifetime, in three events.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Canada has the youngest swimmer to medal four times in a single Olympics - Penny Oleksiak, including gold. Ledecky better watch her back

Both have Polish surnames?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go Canada go!!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Two different style racers. Ones distance one is sprint. Low chance they will ever race in anything other than relays.

(Not to lessen either athletes achievements. I cheered Oleksiak on just as hard as Ledecky.)

She's going to be the greatest female athlete of all time, just watch

9 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

I think she already is.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

How do you designate the greatest athlete of all time? How do you judge among a swimmer, or a basketball player, or a runner?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh yeah, I should have specified swimmer. Or more like 'greatest female Olympian'

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Greatest female swimmer is much better. But yeah, she very well could be.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can't. But, you can possibly determine "most dominant in their sport." You could argue 3 time Decathlon Gold would eclipse Phelps.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think that would be Bruce Jenner

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Buckle up buckaroo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You could probably eliminate female from that statement and be accurate as well.

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 6

Eh, you got Phelps or you could do that...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Phelps has been beaten. Ledecky had never lost an individual race. Long way to go, for sure. But, unbeaten is a big deal.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

'unbeaten' doesn't mean much when you haven't raced much yet. We'll see her record when she's competed as much as he has. I'm excited!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not, if you want to compare records. Less races means less opportunities to lose, and an athlete stops growing if they never get beaten

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At phelps's peak he was winning 10+ golds in the olympics. She isn't winning that many. She swims less events I think

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Plus phelps currently holds the most world swimming records of any swimmer. Not saying she cant be better, she just has a long ways to go

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, but I still think it'll be a while before anyone comes close to beating Phelps' record

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

See, medal count, to me, is so subjective. Phelps has been beaten. Ledecky never has been. This wasn't a SJW kind of comment.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

That's not a measure of comparison though. Phelps has never been beaten by female swimmers either. His times are better than her. Objective.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's subjective to a point. Phelps has tied, if not beaten, a 2,000 year old record.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

She also hasn't been doing it as long. We can only see where she goes from here.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not talking just about medal count, I'm talking world records, Olympic wins overall, etc. But don't worry, I didn't get the SJW vibe

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

As a Canadian, she's fuckin good. But swimming has so many opportunities to prove yourself. I just think she's a great athlete (1/?)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look at the woman who won the 10km today, why isn't she regarded as the same. She beat the WR by 15 seconds. I'm in no way sour (2/?)
