Hello everyone! So, many years ago I was walking with my grandfather in the woods and... jk jk. No bullshit, just how to make om noms!
Steak Stir Fry
Serves: 4
Time: 40min ish
Cost: $20 CAD
What you need:
1. Sirloin Tip Steak
2. Olive Oil
3. Margarine
4. Montreal Steak Spice (or what you like)
5. Mini yellow or white potatoes
6. Carrots
7. Broccoli Crown
8. Red Bell Pepper
9. Red Onion
Additional Options:
Mushrooms go great with this!
Any Bell Pepper colors will do
Cooking Platforms:
1. Wok, for everything but the steak
2. Rock frying pan, for the steak
Wash your veggies! Ok, let's start!
1. Set Wok to Medium high heat - 6/9
2. Chop potatoes with skin on
3. Melt 1 tspn of margarine in Wok
4. Add potatoes
5. Drizzle olive oil
1. Chop carrots with skin on
2. Stir potatoes occasionally
3. Add carrots
4. Drizzle a bit more olive oil (1 tbsp ish)
It will take while to for potatoes and carrots to cook.
1. Stir potatoes and carrots occasionally
2. Break apart broccoli
3. Slice Bell Pepper
4. Peel and slice onion.
Tip: Cut the red onion in half. Peel it and discard the next layer under the "shell". Use the next 3-5 layers, throw out the rest.
1. Add broccoli
2. Drizzle a bit more olive oil
Once carrots are edible;
1. Add peppers
2. Add onions
3. Sprinkle generous amount of spice
4. Turn Wok down to med/low heat - 3/9
4. Turn pan to med high - 7/9
1. Sprinkle spice on uncut steak
2. Rub in spice
3. Cut away fatty edges if they are there.
4. Slice up steak
5. Pan should be hot
6. Throw on steak slices
Tip: Use a knife or fork to angle steak and sear edges as steak cooks.
Cook steak to taste. I like medium rare. As you can see by the clock I only cooked the steak pieces for 4 minutes.
1. Add steak to concoction
2. Stir
Enjoy!
Heineken or Guinness goes great with this. Or... water. I guess...
Author Request: I've never posted anything like this before so I'm open to any feedback you all may have! I have no background in cooking, it's just something I've taken an interest in over the last few years and looking to share some of my favourite recipes while many of us are stuck at home, as well as maybe recieve some feedback and new ideas!
