FYI: These people aren't cool for shit. Construction workers were used to expect to die on the job, because their employers couldn't be assed to institute proper safety protocols. Doing this sort of stupid shit at modern times, and belly-flopping: "Eyy look at me, look what I can do!" is not really a skill you want to flaunt.

There's a trend to call for deregulation to make construction cheaper. This chart tells you all you need to know about where that will lead. Of note: that's only including the *reported* accidental deaths, the real figures are likely much higher. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_rate_of_fatal_workplace_accidents

Remember, people who have never worked a day in their lives will tell you that OSHA and unions are your enemies, not them

I’m pretty sure I’d die of a heart attack long before I fell.
When I was 18 I did a month in the Colorado Rockies hiking and climbing some peaks in Outward Bound and though I was a little nervous, I could sit on the edge of a 500 ft drop and do belayed rock face climbing without much of a problem.
Can’t even look over an edge comfortably anymore nowadays.

Square edges are fine. I will walk a wall anytime. But rounded high spots, like say a round water tower, or a bald…nope, I get queasy just looking at it.

Because the wealthy consider their profits to be more important than your life.

Fuck. That. Shit.

3 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is this what they mean when they say MAGA? Going back to this?

4 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well project 2025 does call for killing OSHA (because something something Biden something vaccines?), so, basically. Yes.

3 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

not "something something Biden something vaccines". Rich political donors make more money with less worker safety. And blue collar workers get scared by migrant caravans, so vote the guy who hates the most.

Reminder: The Republican's Project 2025 calls for
"...reigning in agencies such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which the Biden Administration weaponized to attempt to force COVID-19 vaccine mandates on 84 million Americans through their workplaces"
Catch that? They are still really upset about people and government agencies thinking their health, welfare, and safety are more important that the profits of the wealthy.

I love seeing OSHA memes. Funniest thing. None of these are in a country with OSHA.

Thank OSHA, a book literally written in the blood of all those who came before. If the prohibit it, or require something to do a job, it’s because somebody doing that didn’t go home that night…

All this and more coming to America if Trump makes it in! Yes, im turning this into a political post. Project 2025 will get rid of government regulatory agencies such as OSHA and the USDA. Companies will no longer have to implement or be held accountable for workplace safety for their employees, products you consume will have no regulations whatsoever.

4 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It may not be drilled. It may be part of the forms used to hold the wet cement while it dried

Reminder, your great great grandfathers fought and died for those OSHA protections.
When they said, "No, we will not work for you unless we get some safety equipment and standards, reasonable work hours so we aren't operating dangerous equipment while exhausted, and a living wage." The wealthy responded by hiring organizations like the Pinkertons to beat them to death for that or called in favors with their pals in the government to bring in the National Guard to have them shot.

If you don't have to work in conditions like these, thank a union.

7 hours ago | Likes 203 Dislikes 1

I was about to write that if you want exiting jobs like these, make sure you never join a union.

1 hour ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In some countries, government agencies actually implement and enforce safety regulations without pressure from unions!

Not these countries, obviously.

3 hours ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

And then later on, without unions, remove them after "encouregament" from company lobies. For example: some red states.
