Continuing my Spooky Season horror film watch for every day of October. I'm going to try to see things I've missed over the years but will probably see a few classics and personal favorites along the way.
Last night's film was The Cabin in the Woods (2011) available on Peacock, wherever you can get your rental streaming, and physical media.
The Cabin in the Woods (2011) basic plot description: Five friends go out to a remote cabin in the woods for the weekend and like every horror film that starts this way, things end badly.
This one is a horror comedy that is all about taking the usual horror film tropes and clichés and turning them into a meta comment on horror films in general. It’s a fun watch and I’d consider it one of the modern classic genre films.
For my meaningless rating, I give it a dare to make out with that moose over there.

This is on my list for a couple days from now. I haven't watched in a while. It's a very neat take on horror.

Always bet on sexy wendigos.

I really enjoyed this film! It’s a top favourite of the genre. Exorcist is the top shelf, winner!
Einstein9073
Is that the one where the guys from The West Wing were back in the production room directing everything

You should see that director’s first movie, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair.
HeNeverSawMollyAgain
the older you get the more horror you see in living a life that you so deeply wanted to be different
Sorrontis
Wait. It's a horror film? I thought it was a comedy. I fucking loved it, don't get me wrong, but its not scary.
2ti6x
it does the same thing scream does: deconstruct the genre while working within the genre.
HeNeverSawMollyAgain
Comedy Horror doesn't always have to be scary, it has everything required for a horror movie and puts it all to good use.
Sorrontis
I honestly thought it was a parody.
