The sink

I was getting a 12 am poptart when I heard splashing coming from my sink. I'm super paranoid, and assumed it was a demon. Instead, there was a cute little mouse struggling for his dear life. I'm not sure why or when he decided to take a dip, but when I found him he was using that cup to keep himself above water. It was constantly rolling around, and I can only assume he was constantly struggling to keep his nose up.

Rescue!

Thinking fast, I grabbed the kitchen broom that was nearby and stuck it in the sink. The mouse instantly swam to it, and latched on. I was afraid I would have to catapult him out, but it was a really quick process. He really wanted to get out of there!

Surprisingly cute

I expected him to run off immediately, but instead he lingered. He was shaking like crazy and had to be freezing and tired. I wasn't sure how to help him, so I just watched. I named him shivers! He liked the broom a lot.

Camp fire

I lit a candle and set it on the ground. I then moved the broom next to it. As before, Shivers loved the broom, and he liked the heat too. He started moving more once it was next to him (I guess he could have just been burning up D: )

I'll never forget you!

After an interesting 50 minutes, Shivers was ready to move on. He hopped off the broom, and I whipped out my phone to film his departure. (And later googled how to make a gif out of a video)

Cat Tax

He was sleeping in the barn tonight. Shivers is a lucky lil' rodent. Thanks for reading!

Let it go in your house? Soon, your cat will grace you a dead mouse on your pillow.

Dude, thank you for not keeping him as a pet. I work at Petsmart, and am so sad when people come in saying "I found a wild X!" Good job, OP.

Who the fuck releases a mouse in their house?

Good question! Didn't really want to, but it's no big deal to me. Just a mouse.

I've done it before because it was 6ish degrees outside that day.

Are we not going to talk about the chicken sink?

It's freaking awesome... where would I get one?

My mom has a sick obsession with chicken.

A chicken sink is better than a kitchen sink. Although now I guess it's a catchin' sink.

I didn't plan on it. Wouldn't of been able to get him out the screen door on the broom, and I didn't have a box to put him in.

Then can I recommend those non lethal traps, You can leave it set up and hopefully safely catch him before another sink incident :)

Do demons visit you often?

If you're paranoid enough everything is demons until you have visual confirmation that it is not.

Agreed... including that blinking light on the other side of the room...
