So this thing was about 1.5-2 inches thick. And cheap. Someone mispriced it. But it was topround
Like. Really freaking cheap
So after a marinade and 8 hour sous vide, I grilled it. Trying to see if that would fix the top round problem.
Well the sous vide definitely did its job. But how will it taste?
Well shit. It was actually edible. Fairly tender. The marinade was necessary with this and I've had way better cuts but it was super flavorful when price and cut are considered.

Tougher than a $2 steak!

Now. Slice it nice and thin for sammiches

That's the plan in the morning. With a fried egg

How much was it supposed to cost? I don't know beef very well.

Here in the Midwest top round roast on sale is $2.79/lb, that's as cheap as I've ever seen it.

Definitely more than four dollars. It would probably be at least twice as much. That price per pound. This being bit over 2 I think

There's 0 fat in that bitch. It's all muscle. Pull your teeth out chewing on that without prope tenderizing. :)

It had some marbleing but that's why the marinade and semi long sous vide time were more than necessary. It worked out pretty well

I'm just joking around. When done properly it's great.

Haha. It's decent. But for like 4+ meals worth the price can't be beat.
