It's tastes better if you don't know what it is, I can vouch, my parents cooked it in a variety of ways when I was a kid.

Cook on low for 12 hrs

I used a slow cooker and just fill it with water to cover the tongue and a clove of garlic. Make sure you cut the tongue into medium pieces
