Fundraiser for Fort McMurray victims

To the community of Imgur, I bring to you a humble request. As you all know, there was a fire in Ft.McMurray that caused quite a lot of devastation. Having a group of friends who live in Ft.Mac, I, and a group of mutual friends who game together, were aware of the situation as it was happening and we were being given updates as soon as our friends received them. Hearing about and seeing the destruction second hand, we decided to help the relief efforts out in as entertaining a way as possible, for anyone who wishes to give to the relief efforts. To this end, we have decided to do a 24 hour long twitch stream, of an RPG known as Rogue Trader. During this stream, which will take place on Saturday May 28th, we will provide links to various charity groups, most of them local to Alberta, to our viewers in the hopes that they will donate. The twitch streamer is https://www.twitch.tv/cimbri/profile and this will be his first stream. As we are small chum, so to speak, we thought to make a post on Imgur to help spread the word.

You know, last year when fires ravaged First Nations communities in northern SK, it didn't get even a fraction of the attention. I know this

is for your friends, but I also know that Ft. Mac is a money town and I'm not really concerned about people being able to get back on their

feet. I'm not saying it isn't a hardship or a tragedy, just a disproportionate outpouring of charity.

I appreciate that you'll be giving direct links to charities. Have you contacted local nerd shops on helping to get the word out?
