I agree with your sentiment. But I also think that saying these people are evil makes them kind of cartoonishly "bad" and doesn't really describe the situation. Like they lack the capacity for moral reflection necessary to recognize when something is wrong. Or maybe they recognize it's wrong, but hide that under a disguise of what they think was "legal" so they can gloss over someone shooting a person dead.
I think, personally, the facet a person CAN gloss over the fact a human being was shot dead makes them evil. I don’t mean that anyone who no longer raises hell at the near daily school shootings is a bad person, but anyone who still claims they’re not a big deal, or that they’re paid actors, or that they somehow deserved it, or along those lines? Absolutely. We have a lot of truly inhuman humans in this nation.
