Status of servers for Rockstar games. Notice a trend?
Chat with customer service. Even if I had a physical copy of the game (Red Dead Redemption 2), I still couldn't play off-line in single player / story mode because R* broke their own servers. So that's something.
On-line DRM makes some sense, but not as a constant / every time check. It doesn't help that they appear to blame USERS for not signing into the required launcher. You know, the one users have to sign into every time.
