Friend got in an argument with a conervative colleague that said Trump isn't so wrong on xyz, so my friend corrected him "You mean the rapist isn't so wrong?" Strangely ended the argument abruptly!

I refuse to buy certain items unless the price comes back down. We can all play the supply and demand game.

Republicans have LONG been the party of protecting Pedophiles. Ask Gym Jordan who ignored Ohio State abuses. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/former-osu-wrestlers-say-jim-jordan-betrayed-shouldnt-house-speaker-rcna119116

I mean tariffs for sure but crop yields are also decreasing due to *checks notes* fake news woke climate change

Just wait until that Brazil tariff hits...only people drinking coffee will be the billionaire pedos.

Or people that steal coffee

There'll be riots in the streets. Ignore the pedo stuff, this might be the thing that takes them down

pretty sure that 14 is too old for him

Just how old is an "enigma", anyway?

As much as I love blaming everything on trump it's only partly due to tarrifs. The harvest of coffe is aTT an all time low due to bad weather as well. Otherwise the prices wouldn't have doubles in Europe as well

Sounds like a bad time to implement tariffs.

Coffee prices are up almost 40% but wait until they find out Trump's 50% tarriff doesn't hit until August 6th.

We can just grow coffee in the vast northern banana fields

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Man, are MAGA going to be in for a rude awakening when they discover coffee isn't grown commercially anywhere in the US except for a limited brand in Hawaii. We just don't have the right environmental conditions.

Good. Coffee is nasty bean juice

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

You're in luck! Thanks to global warming the coffee-growing zone is shifting away from the equator, into the southern US.

Yet! Trump seems perfectly happy to turn new England's climate into Colombia's. Although that is long term thinking the GOP isn't capable of

Considering the level of awareness and critical thinking they've displayed, they won't connect these instances.

Time to "goggle" chicory coffee - the old standby from the 1st Great Depression. If you've been asleep (aka NOT WOKE) the stupid Orange Turd is MAKING AMERICA GODFORSAKEN AGAIN.

time to also secure food close to home

foraging won't keep a family fully fed BUT you can get extra calories and/or make extra cash

Pawpaws are coming in season next month, if you're N. America North East (includes Canada y'all) look around and see if there's some deliciousness you've overlooked before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asimina_triloba

Whaaaat ? I've NEVER seen pawpaws referenced. I grew up in the Ozarks and they were always a special summer treat. I've heard that some agricultural colleges were studying them to determine if they could be developed into a viable large-scale market item.

You'll find them points east of the Ozarks, thickly though some parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland for sure. (have foraged those woods)

There's a lot of work being done to improve strains. I don't currently have my own land, but when I do again I'm putting in a grove of Pawpaws. Would love to see what a Pawpaw wine might taste like.

Here's an older Reddit thread with good discussion, and if you search for "Pawpaw cultivars" you'll find a lot of differet varieties. Good stuff
