I used to have three of these great glass bowls. They were perfect for mixing and prepping and even better for serving. One of them went missing and then I managed to break one. So I ordered some more from Amazon. I ordered a six-pack because that was the cheapest way to get some. I figured I could give the extras to my in-laws or send them off to college with my kids.
They arrived in a giant box. (P5 if you track such things.) This is what I saw when I opened it.
Under that flimsy wad of paper was the box that actually held the bowls. I had a bad feeling about this. (But then, I've ordered from Amazon before.)
Here you can see the difference in sizes between the inner box and the outer one.
So the box with the bowls was crushed on the end. This wasn't promising...
Yep, sure enough, one of the bowls was badly chipped. It wasn't safe to use, especially with kids around.
Another picture of the damage.
So I got online with Amazon to complain, because this isn't the first time this has happened. The agent was, of course, very apologetic, very sorry, and said he'd ship out a replacement right away. He said he'd make sure they packed it better this time. And he set it up so that UPS would pick up the package (which they did yesterday) so I didn't have to go out and find a drop-off place.
Okay, so these things happen. Surely the replacement will be well-packed so there isn't a problem again, right?
And this is what arrived today. The same size box. This does not bode well.
At least they didn't pack it the same as last time -- they actually used significantly *less* paper. This is what I found when I opened the outer shipping box.
Okay, so maybe it's not so bad after all? It doesn't look smashed up, right?
Wrong. What I got was a box of broken glass. (Turn the sound on.)
I didn't even bother to open it. Any bets on whether or not the third time will be the charm?

Oh, I have an easy fix for you: try ordering broken glass!

LOL. Sadly, that might just work.
