welp I know one thing I'm doing this weekend

Make Texas Red, ladle into bowl, add noodles. Done.

https://www.seriouseats.com/pressure-cooker-chile-con-carne-texas-red-chili-recipe

Or, strain some meat out, run a tortilla through the liquid, add cheese and meat to tortilla and fry in pan, ladle some chili into a bowl, dip and enjoy.

Oh my good god damn, I'd eat the fuck out of that. Where's it at!?

One of my local trucks serves this too and it's fantastic

Been thinking about trying to make Birria this fall. Now I know what Iโ€™ll be doing with it besides tacos

Thanks a million @OP, because of this post I went out to try this for the first time! What a treat for the tummy!

Should have said add noodles, not asโ€ฆ but whatever. We live and die by our choices, mistakes are no different.

Lol I'm making this for lunch. I have birria in the fridge

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I make this at home with the Trader Joe's frozen birria and it is incredibly easy and delicious.

MexicAsian Fusion FTW!!!

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I've had Asian burritos before. They kicked ass.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it were near me, I'd be all over it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Make it. Birria is easy

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What a bargain. It's $11.50 in my neck of the woods.

Ever since moving to New England, cannot find a good mexican or good ramen. I swear every place uses angel hair pasta for noods and nobody heard of Birria. Thai food is even worse.

That sounds really good

My local taco truck has this and it's stupid stupid tasty. Highly recommend

We have a taco truck that has it and it was horrible. I was so disappointed because it sounded and looked amazing. ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”

I usually go for the full sized quesadilla which is called pizza for some reason. The ramen seems to vary place to place, the one I go to is a more stirfry style noodle but in the broth.

I dont see this stuff in Belgium but am under the impression that โ€œbirraโ€ is just grease from cooking taco meat. Is that true? Then this is taco grease soup with noodles?

Birria is a method of slow cooking meat braising it with a red sauce that contains red peppers (the exact recipe varies), traditionally used to make a soup or as taco meat. Originally it was a way of cooking goat meat.

Birria is meatstew and it's insanely good

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

nope :) Birria is a traditional stew, with a rich consomme style broth

Whoah that's wild. I'm going for lunch at a place that sells this with my brother. Planned it a week ago.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So it's goat and cow meat with ramen?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm going to be straight up with you, I don't know what meats they are using and I don't really care. This shop uses tongue and tripe and the less common meats, so it could very well be goat put in with it. I have no issue with whatever it is LOL

If you like goat birria, you should try borrego. It's sheep. That's my favorite.

places been doing Birria Ramen for at least the past 2 years. I'm not really a fan, but birria consomme (with lots of onion, cilantro, and lime) is bomb af. Don't need fried birria tacos, none of that shit, just the meat broth and a couple tortillas.

OMG please post pics of this. Ramen is the beeeeest

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

That's Mexican slow beef with some noodles added

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna hit it up this weekend and I'll totally share the goods ๐Ÿ‘

I'm an addict. Fucking love ramen

I got so frustrated living in my hometown that the only taken you could find was insanely over priced. I ended up just trying to make it myself.

Where is this amazing place @op?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Monmouth OR

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Damn it. Think it will be good if you ship some to CO?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

only one way to find out!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cue Deadpool "Negasonic Teenage WHAT THE SHIT?? THAT IS THE BEST NAME EVER" type of response to Birria Ramen. Just a big ass bowl of perfectly seasoned grease and noodles...swimming in beef broth? I'm taking my shirt off to eat that.

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

Maybe it would be better if you took off your shirt

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

right? It's gonna be messy and glorious ๐Ÿคฉ

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Had birria pizza once and it was great

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

damn that also sounds really good o_o life is so short and so many good things to eat lol

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was good! Also had some ramen. Pro-tip: I found the ramen birria broth much richer than the regular birra sauce/dip. Save the broth, order some birria tacos and dip them in the ramen broth!

Now I may just have to visit my spot this week! Have a nice one, thanks for sharing this post!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have a good day too!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where is it? I've got like ~3 days to get there in order to binge on it for three days before heading home

2 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 2

couple places have it here in Milwaukee. I recommend Chuy's Red Tacos.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Birria is really easy to make. Make a bunch in a few hours and you can binge it for all 6 days!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

El Sazon in Eagan MN, you know it's good because its a tiny kitchen tucked into the side of a dumpy BP Station.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got a place here in LA that does it. Out in Santa Monica. It was really good!

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Birrieria Guadalajara in LA, Orange, and Riverside Counties has this as well...
Sooooo good! https://www.birrieriaguadalajara.com/

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We are out in oregon, you can do it!

2 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Is this in Portland? We used to go to a truck on Vancouver Ave that sold that.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Down in Monmouth :)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

๐ŸŽตAnd I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more, just to me the man who walked 1000 miles to eat that smorgasbord.๐ŸŽต

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I don't know why I used the royal "we" LOL. I'm in Monmouth, this place is around the corner from my house and it's super good

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I was just in Portland

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh shit, is it the new one on the highway? Was a bbq place for a bit?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

noooo, man I miss that BBQ- it was really good. I haven't tried the new one that took the space. This one's right by the college, across from the teriyaki shop. Koyote taco? They were sort of fast and cheap for a while but seem to be branching out lately

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

they're doing a street taco box as well which is a whole pizza delivery box filled with 40 street tacos, onion cilantro lime salsa Verde etc. it's glorious lol
