How a News Report's Comments Section Reacts to a Disaster

Mudslides and flooding destroys homes, leave at least 13 dead in Montecito, CA. This is how the commenters on the Fox News report reacted. I was shocked to see how much vitriol was posted in only the most recent hour of comments. Majority of the comments say something to the effect of, "people who live there deserved this because of their political stances," but less eloquently.

1. Most people, and me, are safe. Almost everyone evacuated to safety who needed to. 2. Unfortunately, this is usual banter on that site.

Wishing deaths sounds really extreme though. Here we joke about taking a boat to avoid a specific island, not death and destruction.
