well, no, france would have a line of police as well if there was a protest. these are two different pictures that have no relation to whats going on in them lol
the Tesla takedown protests are having an effect. no one wants the cyber truck now, the stock is sinking. every time the cops have to form a line in front of a Tesla showroom is a victory. keep up the pressure.
There is exactly zero chance they are not getting paid overtime to stand there, because they had to be pulled from whatever their normal job was to be there. And that is billed by the City to the business who is requesting it if it is not part of some greater riot/unrest event. So yes, there are a lot of cops standing there. They are paid roughly $40/hour in Chicago, so OT rate is a minimum of $60. So, pictured here, Tesla is paying out $1200 an hour for security theater.
If a company like AT&T with access to your credit card very literally stole $200 from you, the police would do _nothing_. They would laugh at you. If you steal $200 from target, you are definitely going to jail and the full force of the justice system will be pointed directly at you.
Cops in the US descended from slave catchers and "town security" (union breakers). They've only ever been about oppressing people for those in power.
These days they literally gather slaves for the private prison system to make money for the rich, as the US allows legal slavery as punishment for a crime.
TKT, even if, or more like when (considering the current french political shitshow), LePen become president there will be far more than a bunch of crappy cars to burn before they can dismantle the government.
Americans, for all their talk of 2A and overthrowing tyranny, are doing far less than other countries who aren't even the ones being couped. I fucking hate America so fucking much.
An armed populace on its own does not guarantee against govt oppression. It only guarantees that the govt will have to convince a significant number of them that the oppression is required. The 2A was always going to be useless at stopping internal oppression. And if anyone wants evidence of that, I motion towards the whole of US history.
The trouble is that the tyranny is happening in the court of MAGA, where those religiously 2A obsessives dwell. So they don't see this as tyranny. More like some sinister deluded satisfaction that somehow this is "owning the libs."
The people talking about the 2nd Amendment as a bulwark against tyranny are disingenuous or ignorant. It's always been a dishonest argument so they can keep their pew pews.
The unfortunate part is we are about to experience a lot of very well armed people with nothing to lose, and there are too many scenarios to count where that is horrifying.
That would be a terrible place to list control of a vehicle. Wide open sidewalks, too many officers without riot gear. Potentially dangerous situation.
ToonamiT0M
They can't stand there forever.
Alurkerforcedtologin
Wow, they're all just standing there in a row, defending their master like the good little SS that they are.

Murrka is a police state. The cops have no mandate to help anyone and are serving those who support them.

This is because French police know their presence won't stop the Molotov's.

good, get some wage slaves some overtime, take money from Tesla. win win

To a 'billionaire' that's like me paying a penny a week for 20 cops to guard my shitty business...

People always say the police in America don’t care about crime, they care about property. This seems to prove that.
BeefyByDesign
They care about capital. Someone steals your bag? Meh, file a report. Prevent a truck entering a factory? Prepare for a beatdown.

Target will actually wait until you steal over 1500$ unless a cop literally catches you walking out with atv

They care about *billionaires'* property.

It's really a distinction without a difference since they (effectively) own all the property.

Yeah was going to say, they didn't give a shit about my property when it was stolen and vandalized

The problem is that the people who have most of the guns in private hands, support the tyrant.
ThankYouForYourTime
That’s bc it’s a talking point for NRA gun sales campaigns. No education on tyranny and how to prevent it. Only fear and guns.

I hope not. But also I think the 2A crowd was manipulated to stand with R’s (instead of a 3rd party) bc of what’s happening rn
Skystriker8492
Oh I hope not either but those people are losing everything too and they're the ones who do the active shooting stuff and domestic terrorism
ThankYouForYourTime
Fun fact: In the early 90’s the FBI named white supremacy/white nationalist militia groups the most dangerous domestic terror threat we face
