The changes I made: After rolling out the dough, spread softened (not melted) butter and leave a 1/2 inch along the top un-buttered for easier seam sealing. I didn't measure the amount of butter I used but it was easily a whole stick. Spread a thin even layer - not thin like spread it on then scrape off what you can, thin like just spread it on.
Use dark brown sugar with the cinnamon, not white. Double the amounts or more.
Increase cream cheese to 8 oz and beat it with a stick of softened butter until smooth. Then add the vanilla, 1 tsp lemon extract, and a dash of salt. Beat in about 3 cups of sifted powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time.
