This is one of my favorite books I have read in a long time, it is also the first of a series that is still ongoing. Fred The Vampire accountant. Jump in to the world where Fred, a newly born vampire, not by choice, discovers that the best use for vampire powers is running at blazingly fast speed away from danger. Yet strange adventures await him at every turn in the realm of the supernatural. Including winning the favor of an ancient and powerful dragon, of which Fred saves a lot of money each year in taxes.
The theme and style I would put very close to the Dresden Files, but a little more fun at times but can suck you into the world just as deep. Dresden can get pretty serious sometimes in its themes.
Also, the Author Drew Hayes has quite a few different series and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Another series I am loving by Drew Hayes is..
This is going to be a great read for any Dungeons and Dragons fans. Imagine when you play dungeons and dragons, you are really creating people in another world. The NPC's in that world have lives. What if they were to go on an adventure, only to run into your players characters over and over again because of some magical force that created thin walls between the adventure realm and ours.
This is the closest I have come to a fantasy adventure series since Dragonlance. It is well written and well thought out. I have really enjoyed this adventure series and look forward to the next book.
