This is a plea from a UK animal charity who you lovely people at Imgur have helped before <3
Meet Elfie!
Poor Elfie was found in a terrible state, cold, hungry and with a very obvious serious tail injury. This injury was bad, and we were very worried he would lose the use of his bowels because of it, hence why we have waited a week before appealing for help via our website, facebook and now here. Look at his little face, poor bubba has seen terrible things in his little life.
This is the safe post, the previous post I posted included his injury images.
Here for those who don't mind seeing the graphic nature (https://imgur.com/gallery/2Yc6f) His tail was practically ripped off, he was rescued, riddled with infection and sickness. The vets tried to save some of his tail, but as the week went on, they realized it would have to be completely removed.
This is him on the mend after his operation! The tail was completely removed as it was entirely damaged. The vets worried he would lose bowel function, but Elfie has powered through and is working well down there! (tmi)
The vets at Vets4Pets Burscough did an amazing job at patching him up, there was some post operation complications but they are slowly mending. He is the most friendly, happy cat, despite the pain and suffering he has been through, he loves headbutting you, purring like a train and snuggling up to people.
Apologies for the plea so close to Christmas. The charity are struggling with the amount of costs coming up to Christmas. Our routine fundraising just covers our weekly food, vet, flea worm treatments , chipping etc etc hence when we have a dire case such as Elfie we have to appeal.

My cat Ruby had 1/3 of her tail left when I adopted her. It's a wiggly little tail that just stops short of 5 inches. Good luck, Elfie!

I’m not a vet either but I knew a cat who broke his tail and he couldn’t lift it to go to the toilet so he died from holding it in, I’m not

Yeah the long tailed one falls off chairs, he’s fell off the back deck twice, and has fallen off the railing on the stairs twice. He’s dumb.
