The trail map, yesterday was the whirlpool trail to the river trail. Today was the terrace, cobble stone, clif side and trillium trails.

Here in slovenia we make fun of tourists visiting and going hiking with flip flops. They have to be rescued with helicopters.

It was unplanned, saw a trail and had to see where it led to. If it's a planned hike then I have my hiking shoes.

While they are climbing more rocky mountain areas they still come unprepared with little food and water for day day trips

Yes that kind of hiking would definitely require way more prep than just seeing a random trail and exploring it for a bit.
