I once attended a a gender workshop where we had to evaluate lyrics of music and I can't tell how heartbreaking it was to realize that if I actually listened past a good beat, how many misogynistic, homophobic, and racist messages we recieve...on the dance floor! Now there are so many songs that I can listen to or sing along with because I see it and can't ignore it.
