With all the talk of the dangers facing Net Neutrality in America, please don't forget that the internet is also under threat in the UK.

I know, I hate political posts too, but this is actually important. At least there's a news headline that isn't clickbait, for once.

"Theresa May is planning to introduce huge regulations on the way the internet works, allowing the government to decide what is said online.

Particular focus has been drawn to the end of the manifesto, which makes clear that the Tories want to introduce huge changes to the way the internet works.

"Some people say that it is not for government to regulate when it comes to technology and the internet," it states. "We disagree.""

Yes, most of you here won't care or won't be able to help, but if you're a British imgurian reading this, then please don't let ThatcherBot 2.1 win. The Tories want to own and control every part of your life they can. If you value your internet as it is, please do not vote Tory in the election next month.

If you have a Tory MP, write to or call them, and tell them you will not be voting for them because of this manifesto. That you value a free and independent internet where people can speak their minds. That the cost of personal freedom is too high for the vague goal of "leaving terrorists no place to hide".

If you do not have a Tory MP, then write to or call your local Tory candidate and tell them the same.

Tell others about this. Tell them to do the same. Make this plan as politically toxic for the Tories as possible.

tl;dr: Tories want to control and censor internet. Muh porn. Don't vote Tory next month.

EDIT: I was informed by @JohnSmithterms that there are only two days left to register to vote for this election. You're required by law to register, regardless, but you should really exercise that right once you've acquired it.
