This is Gypsy. Today we’re going to the vets to get her teeth removed. She’s in a lot of pain and this will hopefully help her to gain some weight. She dropped from 3.1kgs to 2.6kgs recently.
She’s not a spring chicken anymore and is a grand old age of 15. The vet warns us that there is increased risks of her not making it through the surgery.
I know Imgur loves cats so would some of you mind sending warm healing thoughts her way?
Have a lovely day everyone.

Gypsy girl, you are gonna rock this!

Our little guy needed to have 11 teeth removed shortly after we got him. We were horrified because the thought of a human being getting 11 teeth taken out would mean a severely reduced quality of life. Apparently cats don't care at all LOL he was totally fine within days of the surgery, and doesn't even seem to realize he's missing anything. Good luck with your kitty!

I've been a tech at a cat hospital for over 16 years. Your cat is going to be sooooo much happier and healthier. Cats don't need their teeth. They don't chew their food. Take note of how many perfect pieces of kibble cats vomit when they are dry food eaters. Yep! She's going to be great within a week. Hell she'll be out of pain that day. Good luck and I'm proud of you for doing this for your baby.

Hugs and all the love.

My Kitty had to have about half her teeth removed 6 years ago. She was in pain. She is so much happier. You gotta do what’s best for your baby.

Cats start out without teeth and they're so super cute and as adults without their teeth they're still so super cute. Here's to hoping for a successful extraction and recovery. <3

My friend recently had a 19 yo cat go through a dental cleaning, and 4 bad teeth had to be removed. He came out of anesthesia just fine. Wet food only for 2 weeks, and his gums were a bit irritated for 1-2 weeks, then he had the stitches removed at the follow up and he's been doing great. Toothless cats can still eat kibble if they want

Fingers crossed, our old girl has very few teeth left and still enjoys her kibble, and struggles keeping below 6kgs, but she made it to 22 so far, she will send healing purrs to Gypsy.

Love you Gypsy. Please make it home safely. You’ll get all the wet food you could ever want.
