This is a predominately black/immigrant area of Memphis, which is where the focus of ICE/National Guard has been staged.
Looks like I need to visit and support my local business.

Every "federal" vehicle that showed up needs to be torched.

Bro’s about to be set for life in Memphis….

If you let one in, they never leave. Like Nazis in a bar.

YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME A BURGER OR YOU’RE LITERALLY A TERRORIST
American fascism just… lacks a certain flair.

How fucking fragile do you have to be to send an entire goon squad after a small business over a sign??

based on past events, you'd think they'd be terrified to go anywhere within 100 miles of a sandwich shop

note that basically any other group would just say "fuck this place, then, they aren't worth our money" and move on to somewhere else. Not the fucking gestapo though. Any slight infraction has be made into an example.

I love how the people screaming about shop owner's having the right to not bake a cake for a gay person are completely quiet about this complete fascist, terrorist takeover.

Private premises have the right to refuse service, doubly so to Fascists and KKK killers.

ICE are the domestic terrorists. FBI's definition:
1) Commits dangerous acts that are a violation of US law,
2a) Aimed at intimidating civilians
2b) with regards to a governmental policy
2c) via kidnapping

Apparently the last thing you want to do is get between a pig and his food. The whole fucking lot of them will swarm you in solidarity.

True facts: that is the reason of whole opening scene in Wizard of Oz. Same with Hannibal.

If Trump's still in power next year I wonder what he'll feel he needs to do to top January 6th & 7th.

Man. January might be the worst month for America since September.

What happened on September? I totally forgot.

"man Americans, why won't you do something?" Because shit like this happens when we stand up alone.

"Why don't you just organize?" Do you realize how big America is? It isn't easy to just get a bunch of people together in one area and NOT be outnumbered/gunned 10 to 1

Also without social safety nets lake universal healthcare, we can't all just walk off the job to protest. The woman with two kids working at Wendy's that also works a bowling alley at night can't just fuck off and protest. Those meager paychecks are keeping her alive.

So how did they organize so many people on Jan 6 so easily then?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Because wealthy people paid for the travel and lodgings of a good number of the protesters.

It's public record from the charges brought against Trump for trying to steal that election, groups connected to his campaign spent literally millions of dollars on getting as many people there as they could.

That's the one thing non-Americans (especially western europeans) don't understand when they comment on the current shitshow of US politics. The US is fucking massive.

It's the equivalent of telling Irish people to travel to Turkey to protest

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not only big, but split up amongst dozens of media platforms, just try to get something nationwide organized with that.

No Kings went pretty well. Actually a lot of the grassroot stuff from trump 1 went well, they just sort of felt victorious and lost steam in 2021

I'm afraid the only way peaceful protests will work is if we show up in DC, en masse, and STAY THERE until change is made (French revolution style). But most folks cant commit to that level of protest so there isn't much hope for that.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well, till they fire on the crowd. It will sort of get to the point you would need non-peaceful means to dislodge power, french revolution style

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that's possible (Kent state anyone?) but if we could amass a Woodstock sized crowd they might think twice. Wishful thinking I guess.
