When you feel hungry, your body is sending an uncomfortable feeling in the hopes of meeting the need for food.

Emotions are the same way: Your mind is sending a signal that there is an unmet emotional need. I love this tool as a way to better understand what the actual need is.
For example, if I think I'm feeling sad, I take a look at the blue wedge and realize that maybe what I'm feeling is Lonely. That means I need connection. That way I do something about the need instead of just trying to get rid of the emotional discomfort (which is the signal, not the problem.)

HALT: are you hungry, angry, lonely, or tired? Also, I'm not sure I ever felt "cheeky"
