the game is a solid 10/10. its such a good 10/10 that, despite me hating turn based games with a passion, despite me NOT LIKING FF7 i love this game, the playstyle, the builds, everything about it. but oh my god is it frustrating to deal with playing any of these levels without a fucking map. like, look, if ur telling me u dont want a cluttered UI, ur the tesla of videogames lets say, ok, sure, give me a map in the start menu.
anyway, right now, im playing, using a minimap setup in the corner. as you can see, on an ipad. because this is what this world has come to.
before you say "ur not supposed to have a map" i just want to point out that i get lost going from my bedroom to the kitchen. my brain refuses to acknowledge directions, or anything that has to do with my location in the world. this is 100% a me problem, but god damn just give me an actual minimap this is the most ghetto rigged solution ive ever had to implement.

I like Horizon too. Not sure if zero dawn was better than forbidden West or not

While it's nowhere as bad as yours I don't have the best sense of direction. Now pair it with my sense of direction in a game and i'm the same as OP and i hate games without a map and please mark my position on the map with a fucking arrow of which way i'm looking

"Not supposed to have a map." I'm of the mindset that you're supposed to be enjoying yourself. Do what you gotta do.

Hell yeah. Also, why in the world wouldn't the expeditioners either have or make a map?

I forgot soundtrack. Again 11/10

It would've been neato to have a minimap option that was disabled by default.

im even less picky then that, if instead of getting the characters screen when you pressed start u would get a rudimentary map that also has you as an arrow in your facing direction on the map it would have been fine, i just need to check it every 10 seconds because otherwise i run around in circles for hours on any level.
Nautas
Yeah if you made the map as you go, that would make sense.
Vamp13
omg that would be awesome, i dont know why games stopped having that feature where you make the map as you go, like old doom 2 style map. where it gets generated as you explored, or like castlevania sotn style map, both those would be amazing options.
