I had a dog like this - you could comb a full-trash bag + size amount out of his coat and he'd still look the same. Also great insulation.

With this kind - the thick fur is insulation. They have better temp regulation with their coat. Love being brushed though!

It’s not heavy fur. Haircuts are a no no for this type of coat. The fur actually holds heat in when it’s cold and keeps them cool in summer.

He’s most likely old and possibly arthritic in his joints by the way he’s walking.
