They said they'd make doing your taxes easier than ever, a simple post card!
Back before Trump my W-4 forms were easy. Married, claiming 1, we'd always pick.
Now I am getting a title and pay promotion come July. So I have to fill it out again. But because my wife and I have 4 jobs between us, and because this promotion counts as a separate job, and for other technical reasons, it requires 6 jobs on the IRS withholding calculator, and 30 pages, and I can't just re-do this W-4, I need to redo 3 other ones for the 3 other jobs too, which means contacting whole different HRs and making all new appointments.
Trump did this.
"Married, claiming 1," was too simple. Arrrgh.
And of course the simple post card never materialized. But big corporations and billionaires got their taxes cut in half.

Fun Fact, it was H&R Block and Intuit that killed this.... they knew if we adopted European-style tax filing, they would be out of business... 99% of Americans do not need to file a 1040.

Don't forget, he also passed a tax cut(umm, deferment) which kicked in last year, so all the tax breaks you got then are now retroactively coming due. Well... not for rich people, those cuts are indefinite.

The GOP has never worked for the betterment of society for the people. They just don't fucking care, they never have... they are a pretty effective opposition party, being opposed to everything that isn't funding the military (but not the VA) or cutting taxes on their billionaire donors or blocking ethics rules for our judiciary.
