It may be a good engine it may not, but vw is a repair trap.

Depends what you want out of an engine. Speed, torque & acceleration probably not. Reliability, fuel efficient and environmentally friendly-ish, probably. Good luck.

The 2.0 4 cyl turbo is a great engine, so this one is probably decent enough.

I never had any issues with my VWs, I know they used to have tons of electrical issues but they seem more reliable now.

I have a car with a czcb or czca 1.4tsi (125hp). It runs great. Never had to top off oil. Of course regular change of oil is required on modern engines especially turbo ones. Not a single Problem with the car in about 6 years now.
