You know im not normally one for trends least of all on twitter but this one i can get behind, if only it was that easy in real life.
The Xi one does make me smile though, because it paints a pretty damning picture. For all the things that Xi has done or might do in the future, this dictator, this monster, this walking threat to the free world; is actually the guy we're allied to.
I remember during the Hong Kong riots and how we all went in on Xi and rightly so, but I gotta be honest friends, you've got Putin attempting to exterminate and conquer Ukraine, Benny trying to construct a biblically described fantasy kingdom, Trump molesting kids and kidnapping US citizens in between big macs, a leadership in Europe who couldnt find their way to a morally correct decision with a hunting dog and a ouijia board.
Suddenly Xi seems like the only adult in the room, which Donnie is very upset about.

Actually at the time of the original leak i suggested gathering up NATO, sailing a combined fleet into Taipei Harbour, having the Taiwanese formally declare independence and cordially invite the PRC to hand over the Uyghurs to western funded aid services in Central asia.

Oh I havent forgotten, but as distasteful as it is to split hairs on such subjects, we do live in a splitting hairs era; what Chinas doing isnt a war crime, its a genocide, or to be more exact we think its a genocide but we dont know a whole hell of alot about it.
Post nationalist China is a bit of a fascination of mine, and their genocides arent quite like other peoples. To the point where its actually hard to define them as genocides because to be a genocide it has to fit a certain criteria.

They tend to conduct purges or pogroms with a political intent rather than a racial or religious intent. The aim is to essentially create a homogeneous definition of a chinese person. Colour doesnt enter into it, religion doesnt really enter into it, even sexuality doesnt necessarily, although they are somewhat anti LGBTQ.
Their idea of a perfect chinese person is someone from what they define as China who is utterly obedient and devoted to the state.

My spouse’s people have basically been accidentally culturally erased by a genie wish that was granted in the worst way possible: The Hakka Chinese sided with Chairman Mao in the Chinese Civil War in exchange for being considered Han and granted all of the rights thereof.
Remember that China is, and has always been, an ethnostate though the dominant ethnicity has changed over the decades.

Yeah they have an imagined image of what a perfect chinese person is, and its not so much race or sexuality or religion like it is elsewhere.
Its basically culture and political alignment.
They do care somewhat about religion and sexuality but only in so far as it interferes with the primary two concerns.
The concept of loyalty to a group or god that isnt chinese, so like LGBTQ people we have a connection that transcends nationality. They dont like that, they see that as dangerous.
