Here the campaign will diverge, will you go after the paladin or will you seek the source?

Desert of the dead: to the source!
you learn from the other undead that the source is due east several hundred miles. no living human has ever made the trek, though those groups were fighting the zombies all the way. you are looking at 20 days hard march. perhaps the zombies might know of a better route?

Desert of the dead: Regicide
the high paladin will be arriving on the coastline with the rest of the ships of crusaders. usually he spends the crusade on the ship, though he will stay with the army if they move inland. If there are no zombie attacks immediately, the inland campaign will begin, as the crusaders seek seat of power of the undead horde.
