Wild Chicken Mushrooms

Sep 20, 2017 12:43 AM

#mushroom Grown wild and harvested in the hills of West Virginia.
Only break off the growth, not the root. We've been harvesting this stump for 3 years. It comes back every fall because we leave bits behind.

This feller here is a chicken mushroom

Bathe them in salt water to kill the bugs and grubs living in them.

See how those bugs come out? They die in about 3 minutes in a salt water bath. Rinse them after 15 minutes.
Ready for cooking.
