Time to learn about The Binding of Isaac.

Hey Imgur.

So a while ago, I found this image: http://imgur.com/gallery/iA47G5m
And the top comment read "This could be some horrific Binding of Isaac boss."

This inspired me to educate all you guys who don't know about this amazing indie game and teach you what it's all about.

Intro:
You are a small naked boy, who has a decent life up until your psycho bitch mom hears God and tries to fucking kill
you because he told you. Pretty fucked up. Anyways, you run into a trapdoor and escape into the basement where your fatass mom can't get you.

Gameplay

So now that you have the backstory, I'll teach you what this game is all about.
There are 2 Binding of Isaac games out right now, and one DLC. (Theres another DLC planned for the new game! Afterbirth hyyyyype)
Theres the original Flash version with the Wrath of the Lamb DLC which adds a ton of bosses + items and crap, which doesn't run the best, and is kinda outdated. (Still cheap though!)
And then there'is the fairly new Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, which is a remade, updated way better version of the game, which I'll be covering.
Essentially, its a rouge-like game where you explore different floors / dungeons, similar to the very first Legend of Zelda. (This is at a very basic level, this game gets fucking ridiculous if you're under the right circumstances.)
You go around collecting items that range from HP Ups, Damage, and all that to metal that you strap to your face that lets you mind control your tears instead of firing them. How loverly. You also fight monsters, blow up rocks for upgrades, etc. (By the way your weapon is your tears. Forgot to mention that.)
Side note, if you do decide to get this game, there are slightly blue rocks with a little X over them that you can blow up to get “Spirit Hearts,” which are like little temporary hearts that can’t refill but they block a few hits. They’re super rad. I’ll explain why later.

Floors

There is a total of 6 floors the first time you beat the game, then it goes to 8. Eventually you get to 9, and then the final amount of 10 floors per run. All the floors are randomly generated with thousands of different room layouts.
There are harder variants of each floor as well, once you fight all the bosses on a given floor.
The first two floors are the Basement / Cellar
Then the Caves / Catacombs
Then the Depths / Nercropolis
Then the Womb / Utero <------ Yes you fight monsters inside your mothers womb. Deal with it. Wait till what the boss in there is.
And after those floors you have a choice to go to Sheol (I think it’s Latin or Spanish for Hell, I’m not sure pls don’t kill me Spanish or Latin ppl) or The Cathedral, where you fight different bosses. (Spoilers, so I’m not gonna say)
And finally, if you go to Sheol you can enter the Dark Room and it’s final boss, or the Chest if you went to the Cathedral. (Which most people do.)

Enemies

Some of the enemies you can expect to fight range from small flies, silk worms and the sort, to giant black flies that explode on impact and little turret heads that extend their neck to shoot bloody bullets at you. (But don’t worry, they’re pretty easy.)

Bosses

Bosses:
There are tons, and I mean TONS of bosses in this game. Each few are floor specific, so when you enter the boss room of the first floor you’re going to get a fairly easy boss, except for the haunt, fuck that guy.) I’m pretty sure there’s about 73 unique bosses in the game that have fairly different movement styles and patterns to learn. It’s cool. Some have specific drops that they will always give, but usually they drop an item from the Boss Room Pool. (There are different Item Pools depending on where you got your item, whether it be an Item room, a chest, shop, or a Boss room.)

Devil Rooms / Angel Rooms

Devil Deals / Angel Deals:
These are super important. They have their own separate pool from the rest of the Item Pools, and they only show up depending if you take damage or not. (Except for the first floor and the last 3 floors.) Damage only means Red Heart damage however, so if you read earlier about the “Spirit Hearts,” make sure you have some of those when you’re on the second floor. If you don’t lose any of your Red Hearts, a door for the Deal with the Devil will open up, and offer you some items that you can take in exchange for your HP. Permanently. It’s pretty cool, and for trading 2 or 3 of your heart containers, you can get some really OP items. Like a laser that shoots out of your mouth across the whole room! :D
(After the second floor, theres only a chance you’ll get another Deal, not 100% guaranteed, unless you have some special items that guarantee one on every floor.)
Angel Deals open when you don’t take any Deals with the Devil for a little while, and they offer you fully free items. Some are really good. Some are absolute trash. I’m looking at you, holy water.

Rooms

There are different kinds of rooms.
Regular old rooms with enemies or consumables like keys or bombs.
Dice rooms which give you the ability to reroll items, reroll things on the ground, or your whole inventory.
Curse rooms that cost a heart to go into, but usually have good rewards. (Or jack shit.)
Sacrifice rooms that you walk on spikes to get chests. Not worth. Use curse rooms instead.
Shops where you can buy keys, bombs, spirit hearts, or items. You also have a cool bank thing.
Item rooms that give you an item but cost a key to get into, and a few others I won’t spoil.

Characters

Isaac: Starts with decent damage, 3 hp and a REALLY good item later on when you unlock it. Good for beginners.
Maggy: Starts with decent damage, 4 hp, and an item that replenishes one heart but takes 4 rooms to recharge and use again. Really good for people who take a lot of damage.
Cain: Starts with good damage, 2 hp, and good luck. Good for players who know what they’re doing.
Judas, Starts with amazing damage, 1 hp, and an item that boosts your damage by 2 every 3 rooms, and guarantees a Devil Deal. Good for players who can dodge, and can hit enemies reliably.
Azazel, Starts with a mini fucking laser, flies, and has 3 soul hearts. Holy shit he’s OP. Good for everyone.
There are many more, but there are just a few that you will be using most of the time. (Most are unlockable and you don’t have them straight out of the gate.)

End!

Alright! Well, theres tons and tons and tons of shit I can still get into like breaking the game, tarot cards, challenges, runes, key pieces, synergies, all 350+ items, unlocks and a lot more, but it’s gonna turn into the fucking wiki page for the game.
I hope you guys enjoyed and try this game out for yourselves. It’s currently 15 Dollars on Steam or your regional equivalent.
There's also 16 awesome animated endings you should check out.
