This is not okay

Im am American, whatever that means. I am also a gay female. I grew up in a republican household and listened to all the political views my father had. I never thought for myself, he did it for me. I wasn't encouraged to see past the end of my nose and I was encouraged to only see how politics effected me as a white person. I moved out rifht before the 2016 election and for the first time I voted blue. I woke up and realized that I was apart of the problem. I spoke my side to my family in 2016 and no one cared enough to listen, telling me I was a closed minded thinker and a joke for voting blue. I let it go, because they are family. This time, this time I dont let it go. I said more than I did in 2016. I spoke my truth. Id rather be alone than hate myself for not standing up for my beliefs, including the rights of others.

I did my part. I voted blue. It shouldnt this close. But it is. Because of people like my family. Im so so sorry.

The picture is what I said to my sister about voting for trump. She told me to be careful about what I say because I dont have a gun to protect myself. This was .y response.

Don't be sorry for other peoples behaviour, especially when they are cunts. It excuses their behaviour and gives you its burden.

This. Too many people say cut toxic out esp if it’s family. To the extent you are capable, not sacrificing your health, give a 2nd chance.

I'll love my family no matter what. but if I were a gay person and my family knowingly votes against my interest and well-being then...
