So when she raises her prices for her clients because she represented them for a long time and developed a great working relationship with them, they should throw her moronic advice about loyalty right back in her face and threaten to leave if she doesn’t lower her prices
If someone is still "secretary" after 17 years - no, they aren't. They've missed multiple title increases and are a senior administrative assistant and likely the backbone of getting things actually done.
This bitch is plain ass making shit up. There might be a secretary somewhere making 100k. That secretary’s boss is not asking this bitch for consultations.
20k ain’t shit compared to a good, loyal secretary that knows the ins and outs of your business. Sounds like the employer should have cut this bullshit consultant and saved THAT cost, instead
I was bookkeeper/secretary/human resources for 17 years at a small business. When I retired 2 years ago, it had grown from 5 employees to 40, I'd gone from part to full time, and the only responsibility I'd handed off was invoicing. I had developed multiple systems to deal with the changes, all documented in a procedures manual for whoever came next. Was I worth more than I was paid? Well, they replaced me with 2 people and I hear they're on hire number seven.
Nice! Of course they had more value, and an extra 20k is beans to spend for a good and loyal employee. That company OP posted about with this "consultant" hopefully went under soon after.

Business consulting is amazing because you can literally just make up anything and people will pay you for it

Most positions do have a cap or scale. I hit the top of mine last year.

Time to move on then, I suppose.

Well there's your business cost loss issue, right there, you hired this dumbass cunt to "advise" you how to run your business.

Yes, and in either case, LOL...

If you haven't gotten more value out of a secretary around that long then you're either lying or a worthless "company"
