Na lets speed it up. Humanity is a failed species, we need to do the right thing and end this shit show and let the next species have a shot at running this planet. My money is on the Octopi, I already feel like they are smarter than a decent majority of the hairless apes running around on land.
We were so consumed with running Doom on every computer possible we never stopped to think about what we would do should an actual portal to hell opened up, smdh
Methane clathrate deposits. The tundra and taiga are filled with them. As are the silt deposits where every alluvial fan meets the continental shelf. If you understood that, you know how truly terrifying they are. To everyone else: They are the "wild card" in global climate change. We don't know how much of it there is or how susceptible to sublimation and *drastically* supercharge global warming.
For those of you who do not follow the IPCC on climate change there has been many studies like the "Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate (SROCC)" which talk about the dangers of a feedback loop as the permafrost melts and releases immeasurable amounts of methane which is 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide in the short term to increase global warming. Basically it could set off a chain of events which are not solvable. Sleep tight now kids.
Looked it up, and while the suicide rates are some hair-raising stuff, I'm not sure how I see the apocalyptic damage to our environment would be making that worse--
Wait, no. Now that I've typed it out, I can see the connection.
Know what? Go! I want it all now in 2026. Hordes of demons straight from hell, fighting aliens on a post-nuclear earth where the dominant species now are some brain-eating fungi fighting over food with virus made zombies while AI Robots fight for their survival because electricity is hard to produce now. And the Rolling Stones go on a world tour
well it's been both alarming and interesting for the past 50 years. what's even more alarming is that once it was opened and expanding rapidly, none of the measures to stop it have been taken =/
WeMistbornsNeedNotMakeSense
Feel like alien and demon overlords have a chance to do better than current world leaders now
OneUniverse
Then why are all the demons at the White House?
jasperthebear
I think i dated her once.
Grimmrog
Dunno maybe a giant horseshoecrab or ancient trilobite rested there. Did it escape?

So we've got this door to the underworld in Siberia, we've got the doomsday glacier in Antarctica... what else? I'm sure there's others.

I think we already have demons fighting aliens... At least we do here :(

As if Trump, Putin, Nethanyahu, Xi and Kim aren't enough torment...

Exactly, it would be a welcome change of pace.

I am seriously thinking that this could be an interesting survival game. Highly absurd, dark humor... maybe so critical comments on current events...
tfoot77
You know, it would be a relief for things to be definitely bad enough that you don't have to go to work anymore.
CheeseCoffeeChests
the mutants in the neighbourhood would also lower the rent. and with no where to go who even needs gas?
TheButtInButterfly
It's been happening since the 1960's because of rapid deforestation causing the permafrost to thaw. nothing new
IhopeUgetwhatUvoted4
Not new but also still alarming.
TheRicM
Well, if it it's from deforestation, that's really new compared to the earth's age, so
TheButtInButterfly

1LostPuppy
Well, it's not very permanent of the permafrost if it's thawing.
BananaForScaIe
They're all good frosts, Bront.
onecowboytoo
I don't know, Frosted Flakes are pretty bad for you.
BananaForScaIe
I survived on bulk Barn frosted flakes when homeless so this is oddly applicable.
