Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said Wednesday that President Vladimir Putin's decree on partial mobilisation would see 300,000 additional personnel called up to serve in Russia's military campaign in Ukraine. Putin said earlier Wednesday in a televised address that he has signed a decree on partial mobilisation, declaring that he was defending Russian territories and that the West wanted to ‘destroy’ Russia.

The longer this goes on it reminds me of of a poorly played HoI4 campaign as Russia.

Do they have enough zinc for 300.000 coffins?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

he seems to be doing a good job of destroying russia all on his own...

3 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 1

Yes, that's why he had to "do something" in communicating in escalation, but IRL there's no option for him to win this war.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is something someone clearly winning and in control does...yep

Good time for Ukraine to start a "your gun for your life" policy. Lay down your arms and go away and we won't kill you.

Yeah he jumped aboard the crazy-train...

He's the crazy train driver.

"i'M dEfEnDiNg RuSsIa!" - Piece of shit megalomaniac who invaded his neighbors.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

does he actually have 300k reservists to send or is this just a scare tactic?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's went totally off the deep end and proved beyond all doubt that no quarter can be given. Fuck Putin and his Russian supremacists

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ok, he is even more crazy than we all thought. That is what I understood.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah, were hints of using nuclear mentioned again. If it comes down to it, I think he might actually do that. Russians need to remove him.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The nutcase is going to use nukes against Ukrain. He is preparing for it.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Do... they even have enough operable equipment left!? And how many will just surrender anyways?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please someone stop him!

They will be riding to battle in Subarus. Armed with the best nerf guns devised. We’ve lost most of the nerf bullets, but what can you do?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Russia was already sending 50 year old men to fight in Ukraine. Are they going to send the 70 year olds too?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Seems a good cynical way to save money on retirement pensions, maybe that was the plan ?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So he signed a general mobilization but calls it a partial mobilization? Yeah, that sounds like something Putin would do...

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

It only activates 300k out of 25 million. Seems partial to me.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah a generally partial mobilization of every prisoner in their system as well

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just partial, there's no sufficient infrastructure to hold mass mobilization.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sure. I mean the paper he signed is a general mobilization. Have you read it? It only excludes workers in the military industry... :D

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

(1) My buddy said he did more than that. He said they would essentially pass a referendum to make the conquered territory Russian and anyone

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(2) who dares to try and take it from them will be, well, essentially nuked. Not sure on the validity of that, but my buddy never had a

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(3) reason to lie so take that for what it is worth.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's correct, but this tactic and even the use of nukes would not change the outcome of the conflict, only get it worse for Russia.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That would be terrifying if they had enough material for 300k soldiers. Without that they are doomed to end as canon fodder.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For example the prisoners that were sent a few month ago to help fighting: there are estimations that about 10% of them are still alive.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a westerner i have no interest in seeing russia destroyed. I only want to see ukraine restored.

3 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 2

Have you heard the tragedy of ... Wait, nvm, where was I? Oh, I meant, have you heard of just world fallacy?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a Polish bloke: fuck Russia’s collective desire to oppress other nations and dismantle the regime in Moscow.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's awful but it seems the dismantling of the russian government through the loss of this war is the only potentially good outcome here

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As the son of Ukrainian and Lithuanian immigrants: fuck Putin with a morning star up the ass and fuck Russia.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

None of us in the west want to see Russia, China or even NK destroyed. We want prosperity, peace and lots of cake...

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Putin just tells the narrative that fits him, for interior reasons mainly.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they're close to 1/3rd of that number russian DEAD in Ukraine, the wounded # must be fucking terrifying. more are gonna help ina ranged war?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My sources say 1/6 : 300 000 / 6 = 50 000 dead RUS soldiers already, plus the wounded. Sure not gonna help future RUS defence...

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Correct, I'd read 80 but that includes "all" casualties, it's closer to 55,000 today btw.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks, it's always sad to see ppl dying from the madness of a tyrant, but i guess it's the "find out" part of "fuck around". Slava Ukraini!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nobody should be fighting, we should all be working on climate change and solving the food shortages that are coming

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolutely, many fights are to be combined for a liveable future. Thanks for your consciousness.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's an additional 300,000 Russians that might decide it's better to remove Putin than be thrown into the meat grinder that is Ukraine.

3 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

They can call 300,000 but they will probably be lucky to get 50,000.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The standard reaction seems to be to leave Russia. There's no real war protest movement of sufficient scale to stop things.

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

That's what most of my Russian contacts are planning but if that starts to turn into a flood it will be stopped.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's why there are no tickets for planes to countries that don't require visa.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Neh, the decrees that make any violations in times of mobilisation deemed more severe is in place already. They will be used to shut (1/3)

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

up those who will dare to speak up or dare to spread the word of those who do speak up. Then Ru will annex the territories it gained, (2/3)

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

UA will inevitably attack them, and it will be grounds for full mobilisation or even use of nukes. (3/3)

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I doubt Russia would nuke, support from China and India is shrinking. Russian ppl don't seem very enthusiastic either.
