I am sure the Russian government will figure out a way around this, mainly turning to China for money, but what are people's bets on Monday how low it will drop? 5%? 10%? 50%?
Edit, I can edit this? if this works, future markets show a 25% drop.

I don't think they're gonna turn to China for money. I think they're gonna turn to Putin for dead

Xi knows now Putin will be his little biatch. Xi - > Putin - > Trump. Without China money Putin is dead, and he knows that.

Oops did you just realise in the modern age with instant information that war is not profitable.
KingOfKitties
Putin has done a lot of smart prep for this retaliation. Hopefully the drop is big but I think it’ll be 5% or less. The have a tone of (1/2)
KingOfKitties
(2/2) foreign currency and other assets saved up. They’ve been prepping for war and insulating themselves.

I don't see a huge drop. In the last 6mo, the Ruble dropped 7.9%. Note chart below is inverted (EUR/RUB).

More useful chart: https://finance.yahoo.com/chart/RUBUSD (RUB/USD) and not inverted. 12.5% down vs USD in last 6mo.

I don't know much about their economy, but I'd assume it wouldn't affect the "regular" Russian citizen as much as the oligarchy? ½

Would that not be who held the most money?
itypewerdsonline
indeed, unless they keep their money in other dollars euro, etc. interesting times ahead for the russian economy that's for sure.
itypewerdsonline
a dropping currency will automatically increase the costs for regular folks, the ruble will have less buying power and increase food, etc.
