Did you hear that sound in the air vents?

That's our movie from week five, creeping right towards ya, acid dribbling from its mouth and a second set of teeth caving your skull in.

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Synopsis: Exceptional London cop Nicholas Angel is involuntarily transferred to a quaint English village and paired with a witless new partner. While on the beat, Nicholas suspects a sinister conspiracy is afoot with the residents.

Language: English

Notable Actors/Actress: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Bill Nighy, Bill Bailey, Timothy Dalton, Jim Broadbent, Paddy Considine, Olivia Colman

What do I need to say about this film?

Other than that it's probably one of my favorite movies in existence today. I feel like the Cornetto Trilogy has influenced my sense of humor a lot as I grew up, so they're always great go-tos when I'm having a rough time.

So, I love these movies, Hot Fuzz especially. It has many great moments on it's own, as well as others shared by the rest of the "trilogy."

So, what's going on for the end of our first month?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

Synopsis: When their relationship turns sour, a couple undergoes a procedure to have each other erased from their memories. But it is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had to begin with.

Notable Actors/Actresses: Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet

I've heard good things.

Nothing but good things about this movie, as long as I've been hearing about it. And we could all use some sad, sci-fi-y romance in our lives.

What did we think?

I didn't really know what to expect going into this one (mostly because it's the only movie we've done so far that I haven't personally seen before this), but when I came out on the other side, I was quite pleased with what I watched.

The film is strange, to say the least. The organization of it all is both weird and perfectly fitted. It may have been odd, through and through, but all of the strangeness worked into its favor.

This one is definitely going to stick with me.

And now, on to our main event...

Halloween is coming.

So, for the next month I've made some spoopy selections that you'll hopefully enjoy. I've done my best to get a good mix of classics and modern films, so hopefully you'll enjoy them!

I can't promise they'll have you wetting your pants, but they'll certainly keep the spirit of the holiday alive. Or dead, as the case may be.
