That whole ass movie feels like a fever dream. The cinematography, the colors, the sound mixing all makes me feel like I am devastatingly high

The little kid in the Gold armour is the director's son Charlie Boorman better known for the motorcycle adventure shows Long Way Round, Down, Up and Home. He was also in several of his dads other movies including Deliverance, Emerald Forest and Hope and Glory. Weirdly he was the first male to hold Jon Voight's baby daughter, who grew up to become Angelina Jolie.

this scene will forever be the embodiment of "Carmina Burana" for me.

To this day, I will always remember the Charm of Making. I can't spell it, but I can still recite it phonetically.

Well, mostly phonetically.

I mean, I wouldn't try and bring someone back from the dead with it or anything, but I could probably hard-boil an egg or something without blowing it up.

Same. "Ah-nah-nathra..."

I will also on occasion, yell, "no one will wield Excalibur... BUT ME!" when I stab a fork into something.

Ah-nahl na thrach
Uth vas b-thud
Doch-nyel d’envay.

My best interpretation.

Yeah, mine was Ahnahl Nathrac, uth Vos besed, Doth’iel dienvey.

I did, however, look it up at one point, and the closest Gaelic version of it people seemed to have come up with is:

Anál nathrach, orth' bháis's bethad, do chél dénmha.

I was 13 years old when this movie came out. I lived in Germany at the time. There was no checking IDs to see an R rated movie at the time. It was one of my favorite movies of all time.

You're not stupid. I have a handful of those kinds of memories. Things nobody else knew what I was talking about and the internet randomly helped me find decades later. We were all kids once.

Except Eminem. He was born like that.
