to keep you dormant and docile

who's driving your whole country into a deep greasy pit
of easily foreseen consequences
that the rest of the world since 2015 hasn't needed a fucking prophet
to know he'd pop the top off every Pandora's Box he saw
the instant he thought he could profit off it
and he won't stop until enough of you people left of the Swastikas
start answering these constant calls to action you find so alarming
but you keep hitting the snooze button
refusing to be moved
choosing to lose yourselves in delusions
that some other mother fucker will do your work for you
like the Canucks, Kiwis, and Krauts begging you to wake up
are really Kryptonians in disguise
"so why don't those guys step up and stop
the rampant impenetrable deathtrap from the outside?"
you ask so smugly
but the ugly truth is that YOU are the gears
in the machine you all should be raging against
but you're too afraid to lose what little you have left
ignoring the fact that it's being taken from you regardless
so instead you toil away the days praying the midterms will exist
so you can vote away the evil
and ask the DNC to put aside their apathy
to pave a path to victory out of sheer hope and sympathy
and Lo, your supposed saviors will rise up out of Israel's wallet
to graciously mail a Get Well Soon card to your corpses.

But all is not lost.

This is an open letter to the people of America
You need to wake the fuck up
and fill the streets with angry feet
that tread over the backs of those
who do not see things as you do
to carve your own path for louder mouths
to start conversations that break the ICE
and level government buildings like the playing field
until it's as flat and even
as the plains of karmic grains these tyrants need to reap
so show them that sowing seeds of deceit
is met with raised hands that rain blows down from rainbows
and pastels that transcend those who may bend and bleed
but won't break as long as there are friends to protect
of any race, creed, or sex
from those who intend to dissect and offend
any who dissent from their descent into untold depths
of hate and resentment for those who dared simply
to be themselves.

YOU have the power
so put down your words and pick up your sword
to fight for the tomorrow where you don't have to worry
about what kind of world you're bringing your kids into
because YOU built it
and finally made America as great as it always could've been
but never had the heart to become
until YOU were born and opened the door for REAL freedom
