Somehow one of the world's most hated companies finds a way to get even worse.

To be fair, EA isn't EA any more. They changed once they started doing hard microtransactions, now they're a whole different company.

Not only was it bought by Saudi Arabia, it was bought by Jared Kushner too. You know, the Trump son-in-law, who mysteriously very suddenly got very rich.

Goodbye Bioware. Goodbye decent writing. It's gonna be Madden, Battlefield and FIFA from now until EA goes bankrupt from being saddled with too much debt.

They've announced they'll be pivoting to AI to massively reduce operating costs. ... It's dead, Jim.

Eff 'em. I don't think EA has ended up with any of my money since Spore.

I was considering buying BF6... haven't bought any EA games since BF4 and barely played it because it didn't feel good enough. Then I saw that news the other day... oh well...

Glad I stopped buying their games after BF4

It's been more than 15 years for me

Weird how you are wishing for an unelected company to handle your diplomacy instead of elected officials whom you can vote out if you don't like what they're doing.

Are they gonna make where Americans are the bad guys now in video games?

I was going to buy Battlefield Six... Now I do not think I am.

Part of the deal is to repay some insane amount of money... so they'll probably fill the game with microtransactions to reach that amount.

I have been boycotting EA inadvertently but now I will on purpose. I mean they're mostly shit to be honest so no big loss to me.

Do you really think EA doesn’t have a record of customer complaints?

The CEO keeps it for his private time.

Steam is keeping it for them.

Mass Effect 3 convinced me never to give EA one more red cent of my money, and every new thing I hear about EA just makes it easier to live by that.

Combo of American Mcgees Alice 2 and C&C4 for me. Never gave em another dime. Pirated plenty lol

I liked ME3.

But then they fucked the dog with Andromeda.

But.. me too. Me too.

For the past couple of days I've been feeling super guilty about still considering Mass Effect as my favourite game franchise ever. I usually make a complete run of the trilogy every year. I feel like a sellout now.

It used to be among my favorites, until 3. And I honestly can't fully fault Bioware for the coiled steamer that was its ending -- EA was very much relapsing back into its greedy dev-pressuring patterns from a decade earlier by the time ME3 came out, and I'm sure they set more than a few objectives for the studio to attempt to maximize profits. It reeked of publisher meddling.

Then just remember it's a BioWare game? Just like Sony did not make demon souls or Bloodborne, From Software made the games,

The company didn't decide this, it was the share holders who decided to sell

EA has been shit for years

5 months ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 4

EA has never not been shit. They've been a blight on the industry since '82

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Nah man. There was a time when they made great games. It was a very long time ago, but it did happen.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still the share holders are the ones who decided to sell their shares.

5 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

"the shareholders" IS the company.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sure but the statement still stands EA has been a profit over people and profit over quality org for over 20 years now, this just makes me reinforced in my position not to buy any EA products

5 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

And the shareholders made EA shit for years. Don’t buy EA.
