That bed is not made... no sheets, comforter, or pillows?!?!!?

10/10 would smash my knees on the footboard
No knee is safe
Whoamioooooo
No you made a bed frame, but I still like it.
I posted another where I made the bed too.
Msboobsalot
Absolutely gorgeous. Great work.
Thanks!

I have the same bed, only larger. Nebraska furniture mart made mine.
I made it because my wife saw one like it in a store and liked it, but I thought all the "joinery" looked 1/2
far too flimsy, and said I could make it better. 2/2

I really like the finish. Congrats
Thanks! It was a bit of a process, I now have like 8 different brands of gray stain that we tested with.

Looks like a full size. Where are you going to sleep ?
Its a queen. We are very comfortable with each other.
Still didn't say where you were going to sleep. Fourteen inches isn't much.
Sleep is only one of, and a very boring use of a bed.
Yeah, but that's what the kitchen counter is for.

Just because you assembled it with that weird Allen wrench doesn't count as "making a bed."
I milled down rough ash 8/4 lumber to size for most of it. Panels are 1/4 mdf core ash veneer, internal mattress support is Douglas fir.
That's freaking awesome. Looks great.
Thanks. A lot of effort, but it was worth it.

To his point, you did too well because it looks prefab. Might want to put some action shots of the build or lumber.

Those hospital corners tho... It needs them stat!

These /a/qTuWe, can't tell if yours have them from the angle of the pic.
Yep, they do. My Wife has tried to show me how to do it at least a dozen times. She still makes them look nice, I do not.
I got plenty of training in the military, word of advice use a ruler when practicing at first, eventually you get the hang of it.
Ash wood with a grey stain. Mortice and tennon joinery. Super happy with the results. Wife is thrilled as well.

Congrat op! How how are your repair skills?
Not extensively tested yet. And won't be needed on this. I was more worried about my walls than the bed when I was moving it into the house.
New walls? Next project? :D
Next project is not as fun. Need to fix my jag window.

Looks good, I wouldn't have done gray but that's me. I'd also never think of using ash
Grey fit the color of the room, and the wife liked the grain in ash.
Did you buy the wood or cut it and mill it?
Bought rough cut 8/4 ash and milled to size. Didn't cut down trees and dry them, so I am a slacker.
Doing more than me. I need to buy an Alaskan mill, so far all I've done is cut trees down and move them
I am making an Alaskan mill at the moment also! That project took a back seat to the bed.
