Most of my library grew to include games where death is common after playing DS1

You got it backwards. Playing other games again after playing Dark Souls is rough. Everything is shit.. accessible low effort shit.

I never played games on harder difficulties until i beat dark souls. I was upset that i wasnt dying enough.

I literally get kinda sad when I play a new game and I can't start on the hardest difficulty

Doom on nightmare is fun after souls

Do you mean the original Doom? Or are you referring to Bethesda's / id's terrible modern interpretation of Doom (D44M) ?

I have never read a coment so wrong and so biased before

Doom I & 2 have objectively superior gameplay design and level design. Have not seen a valid argument put forth to dispute that, anywhere.

And yet doom 4 was designed as a 3 dimensional platform style game, using the new engine to boost the feel and gameplay 1/?

Genuine question: do I need to play DS 1 & 2 before 3?

DS1 also has much better level design and more highly polished combat encounters.

Depends if you want to understand the lore/story or if you're in it for multiplayer. DS1 for good environmental storytelling. DS2 for MP.

DS2 kinda goes off the rails when it comes to story presentation, and it rehashes DS1, so it's not as important as DS1 to play before DS3.

Easy, for complete ds experience play ds1 and the 2nd will be optional

TL;DR: Don't need to play them all. They're all self-contained unless you want to really explore the storytelling.

Thanks! I'll check out DS1 and see if I like it enough to die constantly through DS3

Be aware if you're playing on PC: DS1 is a console port and needs to be played with a controller. It also needs a mod to make it run better.

DSfix is that mod's name. It fixes resolution. Can play with a keyboard but it is a freaking nightmare IMO.

Computer is exclusively for school, console gamer so no problem there
