Must've gotten under the netting on top of the chimney and gotten in that way. We had to disassemble the whole stove to get the poor thing out.
Anyone know how to get sot out of a birds eyes?

He's down in the basement for now, hopefully calming down. I'll remember to tell you more tomorrow!

I tried letting it outside and after a minute of getting reacquainted with up, down etc, it spread it's wings and flew away.

One eye was pretty much back to normal. Followed instructions from wildlife shelter to clean the other (lots of saline and some cotton pads)

It keeps walking into stuff, so I'm not sure that it managed to find the water to clean itself. I'll try misting it's head with water later
