I work in bail bonds, our office has been open and staffed every day since 1965.

My work is opening at 8. I am livid. We are a fucking office supplies store. Who's going to need a notebook and pens on Thanksgiving?

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, though, a lot of people get decently-priced holiday gifts on Black Friday (now Black Thursday-Friday).

I know I do! Except I do all my shopping online, because I don't want to DIE!

I blame Kmart. They started it this year, now it will become the new standard.

kmart has been open at 6am on thanksgiving for years. just this year they decided not to close all the way through til friday night

It didn't start this year. A lot of "Black Friday" sales started at 8pm on Thanksgiving last year too.

I was not aware, or forgot. Next year will it be day after Halloween? :(

Yeah, in about 10 years Black Friday will also be Good Friday.

Try working at a movie theater, open for full hours 365 days a year (366 on leap years). With hours from 9 am to 1:30 am.

Haha, I worked at a theater for two and a half years, my sister worked there for four. We both worked Christmas each year we were there.

Voluntarily.

Nope. Unless you're desperately ill or out of the country, you cannot request holidays off at my theater.
