But it wasn't the best Marvel flick or even top five. Hulk could've been written out with no conseqeuence, Banner was a joke, Thor has shown no level of frat boy humour until now, Valkeryie was about as single note as they come, and Ragnar OK never really seemed like a threat. The humour was good (albeit overdone) and the action was fantastic. I enjoyed it but, two months down the road I'll probably forget it. Also, if I have to watch Loki and Thor make amends one more time only to have Loki be a piece of shit again I'm going to fucking scream.
TLDR; Good popcorn flick for just the action, not much else.

Appreciate it for what it is. A movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and provides some laughs in the process.

Yeah, it's like they cant just let things be serious they always have to throw comic relief in. Also there wasn't enough Hulk imo.
HectoProtecto
I completely agree

Note; I like the tone of the marvel movie and GOTG did humour best but that's because it fit the characters. There was no precedent for this
BrainJuice
So you like it but not LIKE like it?
MrSinyster

Honestly the comedy was good but the movie had tonal whiplash never letting emotional moments sink in
Natertoots
Exact. The plot itself was paper thin. I never cared about anything. Jokes are good but Marvel is starting to phone it in.

Do you think it is because Joss Whedon left Marvel (directing and advising on movies)? Just wondering
Natertoots
It's possible. It didn't have the same solidifying tone all the other marvel movies had.
